Window mounted air conditioners does not block your room space. However, as they need not be removed or stored in winters as their mounting on the window is of no hindrance.

There are window air conditioners with split system known as Mini-split. This type of system cools individual rooms. The indoor part of the air conditioner can be mounted anywhere because the compressor is planted outside. These types of air conditioners come in expensive ranges than room air conditioners. Mini–duct type of air conditioners also come in expensive prices. These types of air conditioners are also less noisy and make use of only partial air of any conventional system.

Central types of air conditioners are very efficient, quiet and convenient. They come in two types single package and split system units. The single package type puts the compressor, blower, evaporator and condenser coil in a cabinet box outside the house. But a split system consists of two parts with a condensing unit outside. Each room gets cold air and is more economical. They come in expensive ranges and makes installation difficult than a single package system. Determining your needs and budget will allow you to make the right choice.
